Highland Morning
Bright, editorial site for a family-run Louisville brunch spot — a live open-now status, two-location hours, and online ordering.
Highland Morning is a demonstration build we designed and produced in-house to show our approach for this kind of business. The demo runs live, but it is not an operating business site: ordering, booking, and checkout flows are for show, and nothing placed through them is fulfilled.
A breakfast spot lives and dies on two questions a phone asks at 9am: are you open, and what should I get. Most restaurant sites answer neither well — a stale PDF menu, hours that may or may not be current, and nothing of the room that makes regulars regulars. The brief for this concept: build a brunch site that sells the personality of a family-run kitchen and still does the practical morning jobs, across two locations, without going out of date.
We led with a bright, editorial art direction — a sunrise wordmark, warm paper tones, and proud-but-unfussy type — then built the working restaurant underneath. The signatures get their own showcase: the Highland Not Brown, a breakfast love letter to the Louisville Hot Brown, and the Gravy Cup–winning sausage gravy. A structured all-day menu spans favorites, eggs and omelets, griddle, and lunch. A live open-now indicator and per-location hours cover both the Highlands original and the St. Matthews sequel, with online ordering and catering a tap away.
The demonstration shows appetite-first design and daily utility sharing one site: the photography and voice sell the room while the live-hours and multi-location system keep it honest. The same open-now, per-location pattern carries directly to any restaurant group whose customers check the site before they check the door.
