Vintage Banana

Playful brand and storefront for a neighborhood thrift shop — a rotating “this week’s finds” showcase, a category guide, and visit details.

Studio Concept

Vintage Banana is a demonstration build we designed and produced in-house to show our approach for this kind of business. The demo runs live, but it is not an operating business site: ordering, booking, and checkout flows are for show, and nothing placed through them is fulfilled.

1The Brief

Thrift and vintage inventory is the opposite of a product catalog: every piece is one of one, the floor turns over weekly, and half the fun is the hunt. A conventional storefront fights all of that — it wants SKUs, sizes, and restock counts a secondhand shop will never have. The brief for this concept: capture a thrift shop's personality and make its ever-changing stock feel current, without pretending to be an e-commerce backend.

2The Build

We built the brand around the joke in the name — banana-yellow, bold type, and a secondhand-first-rate voice that treats browsing as a treasure hunt. The centerpiece is a “this week’s finds” showcase where each one-off piece is a small record with a price, a category, and a line of copy with a wink, marked in-store only because finds move fast. A guide to what you’ll dig up sorts the floor into denim, vinyl, furniture, and oddities, and a second-life sustainability story anchors the mission alongside hours, location, and donation drop-off.

3What It Shows

The demonstration makes the case that personality-forward retail can treat a constantly changing floor as an editorial feature rather than a data problem. The weekly-finds pattern generalizes to any consignment, thrift, estate-sale, or one-of-a-kind resale shop whose stock never sits still.

Process

How We Built It.

1

Concept & Art Direction

Built the brand around the name: banana-yellow, bold type, and a secondhand-first-rate voice that makes thrifting feel like a treasure hunt.

2

Weekly Finds System

Modeled “this week’s finds” as individual one-off records — price, category, and a line of copy each — so a constantly changing floor stays current without an e-commerce backend.

3

Categories & Story

Laid out a guide to what you’ll dig up across denim, vinyl, furniture, and oddities, and told the second-life sustainability story.

4

Visit & Deploy

Set hours, location, and donation drop-off details, tuned the mobile layout, and deployed the demonstration to its live environment.
