Highlands Tax & Accounting
Warm, trust-first site for a local tax preparer, with a 2-minute refund estimator and a live deadline tracker.
Highlands Tax & Accounting is a demonstration build we designed and produced in-house to show our approach for this kind of business. The demo runs live, but it is not an operating business site: ordering, booking, and checkout flows are for show, and nothing placed through them is fulfilled.
Tax preparation is a trust purchase in a category people dread. Most preparer sites read like filing cabinets: cold, generic, and indistinguishable from the chains. The brief for this concept: make a local preparer feel like a person you would hand your paperwork to, and give visitors a reason to engage before picking up the phone.
We built the site around warmth and utility. The design leads with the preparer's story and a calm, paper-toned palette instead of stock-photo suits. Two interactive tools do the converting: a two-minute refund estimator that gives visitors an answer before asking for anything, and a live deadline tracker that counts down to the next filing date.
The demonstration maps the lead-generation playbook for local professional services: earn trust with specificity and tone, offer a genuinely useful tool, and let the appointment request feel like the natural next step. The estimator and tracker patterns port directly to law, accounting, and advisory practices.
